STAND BY ME! БУДЬ МНЕ ОПОРОЙ!

[LYRICS & VOCABULARY:]When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No I won't be afraid
Oh, I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
So darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
to tumble [ˈtʌmbl] - обваливаться
All the mountains should crumble to the sea
to crumble [ˈkrʌmbl] – крошиться, осыпаться
I won't cry, I won't cry
No, I won't shed a tear
to shed (shed, shed) [ʃed] a tear [tɪəʳ] -  проливаь слезу
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
And darling, darling
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand now, stand by me
Stand by me

Stand by me is a ballad about love and friendship. It was inspired by Stand by me, Father, a Christian song.
to inspire [ɪnˈspaɪər] - вдохновлять
A Christian song sung by Afro-Americans is also called a spiritual, or a gospel.
spiritual [ˈspɪrɪtjuəl] – негритянская духовная песня
gospel - госпел, стиль афро-американской церковной музыки
Gospel [ˈgɔspl]Евангелие, благая весть, учение Иисуса Христа
[LYRICS & VOCABULARY:]

Stand by me to the end, oh, oh
I want You to stand by, stand by
Well, all of my money and my friends are gone
God, I'm in a mean world
mean [miːn] подлый, злобный

And I'm so all alone, oh, oh
I need You Jesus, stand by, stand by

Well, they tell me that
Samson killed in ancient times
ancient [ˈeɪnʃənt] – древний

I know that You helped
Him kill 10,000 Philistines, oh
Whoa I need You, stand by, stand by

Here's another thing
They tell me that they put Daniel
Down in the lion's den
den [den] - логово

I know You went down there, Father
You feed Daniel once again
That's why I said
Do me like You did Daniel
And stand by, stand by

Well, sometimes I feel like
The weight of the world is on my shoulders
And it's all in vain
in vain [veɪn] - напрасно

When I begin to feel weak along the way
You come and You give me strength again oh, oh

The Hebrew children have been in fire
Hebrew [ˈhiːbruː] – древнееврейский

Ten times hotter that it ought to be
Just like You delivered them, Father
I know You can deliver me, oh Lord
I'm calling You Jesus, stand by, stand by
to deliver [dɪˈlɪvəʳ] – спасать, избавлять

When I'm sick, Father, stand by
When the doctor walk away from my bedside
Stand by me, Father
When it seem like I don't have a friend
I wonder would You be my friend
Stand closer than my brother, stand by ...

Mind the bad grammar in the final sentences:
When the doctor walk away from my bedside
When it seem like I don't have a frien
Surely, it should have been:
When the doctor walks away from my bedside
When it seems like I don't have a friend

Why, then are there these bad grammar mistakes?
[GUESSED IT?]
This black gospel song is sung by Afro-Americans. As is well known, Afro-Americans are descendents of slaves who did not have enough schooling, so they could not and did not always use the correct grammas structures.
